Yvonne Jeffery

Vice President, Sustainability

Vermilion Energy Inc.

Canadian Sustainability Standards Board (CSSB) Member

Yvonne Jeffery has more than 30 years of international sustainability and communications experience, having led sustainability strategy and reporting at Vermilion Energy Inc. for the past decade. She previously held leadership roles at the intersection of business, community and sustainable development, including at the Calgary Herald. She began her career as a logistics officer in the Canadian Army, serving across the country and on a United Nations peacekeeping mission in Cambodia – experiences that sparked a lifelong inquiry into multi-sector collaboration.

Creating a sense of shared value and purpose is the foundation of her approach, which she leverages through community roles as advisor, mentor, and director for a variety of community and sustainability leadership organizations, including the Canadian Sustainability Standards Board.

Yvonne holds an MSc in Sustainability and Responsibility (with Distinction) from Hult Ashridge, a Graduate Certificate in Corporate Social Responsibility from the University of St. Michael’s College, and a BA in English and Management from the University of Calgary. She is also an FSA Credential holder.

Denise Weeres

Director, Corporate Finance

Alberta Securities Commission

Denise has served as Director, Corporate Finance at the ASC since October 2021. The Corporate Finance division is comprised of accountants, lawyers, engineers and other finance professionals responsible for overseeing the disclosure of both corporate issuers and investment funds participating in the public and private capital markets and the development of associated rules and policy. Specialized teams focus on priority issues such as oil and gas reserves and resources disclosure and the broader energy sector; environmental, social and governance (ESG) disclosure; M&A including contested takeover bids and proxy contests and explore ways to best facilitate capital formation in Alberta through education, engagement and regulatory innovation.


Denise’s prior roles at the ASC include Director, New Economy, General Counsel, and Manager, Legal. She served as General Counsel and Corporate Secretary to a TSX-listed energy company developing an oil sand mine near Fort McKay and an upgrader in Sturgeon County (including joint oversight with the COO of energy and environmental regulatory applications and HSE), Manager, Corporate Finance Policy at what is now the TSX Venture Exchange and practiced corporate and securities law at firms in Calgary and Vancouver.

Patrycja Drainville

Sustainable Finance

Scotiabank

Patrycja is Senior Director of Sustainable Finance at Scotiabank where she leads the sustainable finance and ESG advisory coverage for corporates in the energy, mining, agriculture, infrastructure and consumer retail sectors, as part of the Bank’s commitment to mobilize $350 billion in climate financing by 2030. Over the past 15 years and prior to joining the bank, Patrycja worked with large-cap North American energy companies including EnCana, Cenovus and Suncor to advance sustainability integration and disclosure practices. She is an active member of the sustainability community and a key participant in many national and global initiatives aimed at the development and growth of the sustainable and transition finance market.

Patrycja holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from the University of Calgary and an MBA from Dalhousie University. She is board member of the Canadian network of the UN Global Compact and social finance impact cooperative Local Investing YYC.

Anne-Marie Gagnon

Director, ESG

Anne-Marie is a Director, ESG, at BCI. She has been with BCI for over 10 years. Anne-Marie oversees the ESG strategy and ESG integration in BCI’s Credit assets, including investments in sustainable bonds, and oversees the stewardship and engagement program with Public Markets portfolio companies. She has been involved with leading or co-leading on most Canadian Climate Action 100+ dialogues, and she represents BCI on the board of director of the Canadian Bond Investors’ Association (CBIA).

Graham Takata

Director of Climate Change, Responsible Investment

BMO Global Asset Management

As the Director of Climate Change for BMO GAM’s Responsible Investment team, Graham oversees BMO GAM’s climate thought leadership, net zero ambition, and investee engagements through Climate Action 100+, Climate Engagement Canada, and BMO GAM’s own climate action campaigns.  Graham serves on Climate Engagement Canada’s (CEC) Steering Committee, and has previously led climate initiatives across multiple sectors including the Green Ontario Fund’s commercial programs, performance benchmarking for institutional investors, and some of Canada’s first carbon-financed projects.

Fate Saghir

Head of Sustainability and Marketing

Mackenzie Investments

Fate joined Mackenzie in 2017. She oversees the Sustainability, Marketing and Client Experience teams. With more than 15 years of experience in the financial sector, she has championed sustainable investment practices and capabilities to position Mackenzie and its investment boutiques as leaders in the space. In mid-2023, Fate took on an additional role as head of marketing and client experience. Since then, she has focused on elevating the voice of the client in marketing through research, insights and innovation, enabling fact-based and client-centric decision-making across the organization. 
In 2021, she joined the Responsible Investment Association’s Leadership Council. She was also named a Clean50 2022 Honouree in recognition of her efforts to advance the cause of sustainability and clean capitalism in Canada. Fate has a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Windsor and is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA).

Jamie Bonham

Head of Stewardship

NEI Investments 

Jamie has over twenty years of experience in researching and engaging with companies on environmental, social and governance (ESG) issues. At NEI he oversees the implementation of the Stewardship program across the NEI portfolio to support NEI’s thesis that companies can mitigate risk and take advantage of emerging business opportunities by integrating best ESG practices into their strategies and operations. This includes a focus on conducting direct, collaborative dialogues with companies and policy makers on key ESG issues. He has also authored numerous submissions and reports on topics ranging from climate change policy and environmental oversight to the duty to respect human rights. Jamie is currently a member of the board at the Initiative for Responsible Mining Assurance (IRMA).

Pratima Divgi 

Head of Capital Markets, North America

CDP

Pratima Divgi is the Head of Capital Markets North America for CDP, where she leads engagements with the financial sector in measuring and managing climate and environmental impact, guiding them toward more sustainable practices. Previously, she was the Director for CDP’s regional offices in Honk Kong, Southeast Asia, Australia and New Zealand, collaborating with corporates, investors and cities on environmental impact management.


With over 20 years of experience in finance and environment, including private equity at Aberdeen Standard Investments, Pratima brings a wealth of expertise on integrating ESG-related financial risks within asset management, across asset classes. She holds a Masters in Environment and Business from University of Waterloo and a Masters in Finance Services from GOA University.

Julia Silberman

Head of Disclosure, Americas

CDP

Julia Silberman is the Head of Disclosure, Americas, for CDP.  She leads Disclosure Team which works with Companies, Cities, States and Regions in North American and Latin America to report on their environmental performance to their stakeholders. The team supports organizations from their first CDP response and helps them progress towards environmental excellence by adopting best practice in environmental management and disclosure. Previously, as a manager on CDP’s Supply Chain team, she worked closely with companies in the consumer goods, information technology and telecom sectors to engage suppliers, reduce the environmental impacts of their supply chain, and achieve their supply chain sustainability goals.

Trish Kramer

Engagement Manager, Canada

CDP

As Engagement Manager, Canada for CDP, Trish works with Canadian companies in the oil and gas, materials and mining, and manufacturing sectors to encourage and support their environmental disclosures on climate change, water security and deforestation. Trish also leads engagement campaigns for Canadian companies across all sectors to support their disclosure and help accelerate action, including the adoption of near term and net-zero science-based targets. Prior to joining CDP, Trish was most recently the Corporate Brand Manager for Irving Oil, an international refining and marketing company based in Saint John, New Brunswick, and has over a decade of diverse experience working in Halifax, Toronto, and Saint John.
